Description du contenu de l'enseignement

- (in class) An empirical and analytical study of conflict dynamics in the Middle East region: sectarian, political-islam related, foreign-intervention related, and political/economic conflicts. - (in class) Exploring and questioning notions and common ideas about violent conflicts, whether domestic or extra-national. - (through readings): Comparative readings that help explore the dynamics of conflicts worldwide and through time.

Mode de contrôle des connaissances

(1) a paper on a documentary (10%) + (2) a final examination (3hrs, final exam at the end of the semester, 75%) + (3) homeworks/participation (15%)
