Description du contenu de l'enseignement

The aim of this workshop is to give the students an idea of research issues at the boarder of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Theory. During the first half of the workshop, the teachers present different research topics, by giving some elements making it possible to understand the problematics. Lectures are also given about how to make a research talk or paper. During the second half, students who chose the workshop as a minor present their work on the subject they chose. Subjects vary from year to year, but the following list gives an idea of the usual topics:
  • preference modelling
  • preference learning
  • preference aggregation
  • computational social choice: voting, fair division
  • algorithmic decision theory
  • data mining and machine learning
  • distributed decision making
  • knowledge representation and reasoning
  • algorithms for heuristic search, planning and game playing
Students who follow the workshop as a major will do their internship on a topic related to Artificial Intelligence and Decision Theory. They are expected to attend the same lectures as others and present the work they are doing as interns.

Mode de contrôle des connaissances

The evaluation is based on a memoir and a defense based on the work the student did during their internship.
